Working on: 1) fantastic new song that I’m really excited about, 2) a new domain solely focused on my writing, 3) maintaining the shreds of my sanity [and failing miserably], and 4) my friend’s MacBook Pro, which needs some of my special sauce, apparently.

Any other 3GS owners getting crappier than normal battery life? My battery is barely making it through the day. Looking hard at a Mophie!

Firewalls...

Question for the group: I have a client that required the ability to VPN into their office (for MacPractice, etc.). They have been experiencing some network latency, and I believe that I’ve tracked it down to the firewall, which is not capable of running Gig-E. Gig-E proliferates the entire office. Unfortunately the cost difference between their current firewall (which is only 5 months old) versus one that supports Gig-E, is roughly $1200 more. They don’t want to pay anymore than they have. As it is, I’m going to have to put this device back into my inventory. Not fun.I did find a NetGear VPN-enabled firewall that had Gig-E integrated directly onto the system board, but it requires a client for VPN connectivity - and there is only one version, for Windows. Is anyone using a GiG-E enabled (on the LAN side) firewall solution that you’re happy with?Please, let me know!
